VNC Control

Welcome to VNC Control website!

VNC Control is VNC Manager, presenting friendly and easy to use interface to the server and the client of the free UltraVNC package. It should also be compatible with other VNC packages like RealVNC and TightVNC.

At first the idea of the author for this kind of program was born because of everyday need of remote administration of multiple computers. After some time it became his graduation project for getting bachelor degree in Informatics at the University of Plovdiv.

The program is intended to be used by teachers, during classes with students in computer classrooms, by aystem administrators, who need to remotely assist the users in the network (which is the authors case), by Internet HelpDesk. The program can also be used in internet rooms and cafes, in small home or office networks, etc.

Aided by VNC Control, after setting up the copmuters in your network, their management becomes, easy and effective - with only a fiew clicks.

The program has two basic work modes, regarding the way you wish to connect to the remote computer - Clients and Servers.

In the Clients mode, an invitation is send to the listening VNC client at the chosen remote computer, to connect to the local VNC server. This way, the user of the remote machine can observe on his monitor the screen of the local server.
This mode is appropriate for presentations in computer rooms, because all connected clients can observe what happens on the server screen. This removes the need of expensive projector and darkening the room for the projection.

In the Servers mode, the local VNC client connects to the VNC server at the choosen computer, and depending on the VNC settings, it can get full control of the remote machine, or just to observe. This mode is appropriate for system administrators, who need to help remotely the network users, or for the teacher in computer classroom, when he need to see the progress of the students on the given task and to assist them directly from his PC. In this mode there is also a possibility for file transfer between two computers.

In the Off mode, the described above two modes are turned off and the user can call the context menu in the tree to WakeUp the chosen remote computer.
